some friends
I linked to another blog, The Cornish Adoption Journey, for a good reason. I went to school with the woman who writes this blog, and I can't help but think that if the world had a few more people like her then we would be much better off. Both her and her husband are such wonderful people. They took two very special children into their hearts and homes, and along with their own two children, they are raising 3 Forever Children. They have 3 wonderful children with DS, and one spirited 4 year old. They feel that they were blessed and guided by God to adopt their children from the Ukraine. Their recently adopted 5 yr old DS daughter has a heart problem, and really needs a surgery to repair her heart. She still has a month to go before her surgery, they are asking for nothing, but a prayer can only help this special little girl.
The beginnings
And so I have decided to start a blog. Super exciting as that is, I don't know really why I am doing this. I do know that I find that being bored at work is excruciating, and I figure that perhaps this will give me some form of entertainment (seeing how some things are blocked for me to do on the Internet..) So, a little about me. I work at a local hospital as a Concierge. Oooo. Fancy word for 'receptionist' or 'lobby services'. Basically, I give information, such as where to go.. Not too difficult of a job. I like it enough. It isn't challenging, sometimes a little boring, but it is good enough for now. Especially since there isn't really any other jobs around right now, so I will gladly take what I can get! I have a wonderful husband, who also works at the hospital but he is a R.T, so he actually does something. We have a son, who turns three this September. He is a wonderful little guy who is quite busy. He tries to cause lots of trouble, and keep us on our toes. I have a bachelors degree in History. What I will do with it, only God knows.. I don't' want to teach, so I have no idea what to do with my degree. I plan on going back to school soon so that I can get a more useful degree, but I still have no idea as to what I will get it in. So, I guess that is all for now.. I figure I'll try to keep up on this for a while.. maybe finally get rid of the crap Myspace... time will tell.
